Ever since I can remember, I’ve had a deep and genuine passion for supporting older adults and the caregivers who stand beside them. For more than 36 years, I’ve dedicated my career to improving the lives of people living with dementia and helping families navigate the emotional, unpredictable journey of caregiving.
I graduated from Pepperdine University with a BS in Leisure Science/Recreation and an emphasis in gerontology. From there, my work grew into a wide range of professional roles, including Activities Therapist and Nursing Home Administrator at Namaste Alzheimer Center in Colorado Springs. During my time at Namaste, I developed, implemented, and managed the organization’s adult day program at both the primary facility and a satellite location.
In 2009, I founded DayBreak, Teller County’s first and only adult day program. For almost a decade, DayBreak served families with compassion, dignity, and the belief that caregivers deserve consistent support and that participants deserve meaningful days filled with purpose and connection. Although DayBreak eventually closed, its influence lives on in the hundreds of individuals it supported, and the relationships built within that community. I remain profoundly proud of the work accomplished there.
That legacy continues to guide my mission today.

A Place Like Home Adult Day Program, opening in Colorado Springs in 2026, is built on the same core values that shaped DayBreak: community, engagement, safety, and loving support for both participants and caregivers. I am honored to play a part in shaping its vision and bringing a new, much-needed resource to families in Southern Colorado.
I hold Trainer, Consultant, and Advanced Consultant certifications from Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care and complete the extensive recertification process annually. I’ve also served as a volunteer facilitator for Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support groups since 1999, earning Volunteer of the Year in 2012. In 2019, I received the Joe Henjum Senior Accolades Legacy Award: Business Professional, and in 2022, I was named the first recipient of the Joe Henjum Lifetime Achievement Award by the Senior Resource Council.
Through all these roles, one truth has remained constant: caregivers should never have to walk this journey alone. My consulting practice exists to offer stability, clarity, and hands-on skills to families who need support while caring for someone they love.
I’m here to help you find a path forward that feels steadier, calmer, and more manageable.
And I want you to know you are never alone.
